It's awful when this happens and fish die and birds can't clean their feathers. You can see how they are trying to clean it up in the pictures with the article. Lots of rivers have Friends groups who look out for them and their health. Nowadays these Friends might also be testing the water regularly as the Environment Agency wasn't doing this very regularly. I've seen the River Wandle mentioned on the Thames 21 website. They are very active in creating groups to look out for the state of our rivers and streams and taking action.The article mentions the South East Rivers Trust (SERT). Who do you phone if you see pollution like this?
