Park Hill  Sheffield - A Grade II* Listed Estate Then & Now (well almost)

It was a wonderful production, thoroughly recommended. I saw it at the National Theatre and at the Gillian Lynne.You can actually see it on NT At Home. You need only subscribe for a month and there are lots of other NT productions available. Enjoy.

100% agree with you, Barry. Park Hill is a really important Sheffield icon. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to catch the show when it came to the West End; it got rave reviews, which is not surprising given that the music was co-written by another Sheffield legend, Richard Hawley.

If it returns to London go see Standing on the Sky's Edge the musical set in Park Hill which tells the buildings story arc — from dream homes of the sixties, to urban deprivation and finally gentrification. I don't think anyone one familiar with the building would dream of suggesting it should be demolished.

Haha, I take your point re. Estate Agents, but I think in the case of Park Hill, they are not too far off the mark.It is a very good example of how a pretty run down, depressing  scheme can be radically improved with the right team, vision and budget.Mighty stuff, indeed!
