Talking of Humpty Dumpty, here is what our Chancellor in charge of our economy said in reply to criticism of her recent budget by the Office for Budget Responsibility.They are quoted as saying - 'Rachel Reeves' decision to hammer firms with a 'jobs tax' in her 2024 Budget had an even bigger impact on the economy than first thought, the Treasury watchdog has admitted.The Office for Budget Responsibility said its UK growth forecast for last year had been 'too optimistic', with its prediction of 2 per cent being replaced with an initial estimate of just 1.4 per cent'.Her reply - "In March this year Ms Reeves defended the move, saying it helped to 'properly fund public services' including the NHS, although she also conceded 'it's a valid argument to say that that should not have happened'."So she claims it was both needed and also not needed !Good job she is still not handling paying in books at the Halifax ! .

Ms Hammond'The Guardian’s main raison d'être is to criticise anybody or anything connected to the Right.  However to journalists like Crace and his Guardian colleagues Owen Jones and Polly Toynbee, the Right has now inexplicably morphed into being Far-Right, which is nonsensical. 'True and anyone with any sense knows that it is the mouthpiece of the left with all the bias and prejudice that comes with it.Fair enough.But why do some claim that the UK media has a 'right wing' bias when it includes the Guardian, Mirror, BBC....!?I too wonder about the difference between the 'Right' and the 'Far Right'.What's next ?'Far, far right' ?'Fascist' ?!"Words mean what I want them to mean" to quote Humpty Dumpty in Lewis Carroll's "Through the Looking-Glass".Jones and Toynbee are an interesting couple.He a 'working class northern lad' like Burnham.But instead of going to Cambridge he went to Oxford.I have also heard he is a part-time model for Primark white T-shirts.Pro-Palestine and anti-Israel of course and never seems to find a Party of the 'left' that he can associate with or represent.She the doyenne of the Islington leftie set, part of the Toynbee dynasty though spending much of her time in her villa in Tuscany.Probably to avoid bumping into Corbyn !

(John Crace, Gdn)'Part of a never ending series of articles by your old Guardian colleague John Crace.He is supposedly the paper's lobby correspondent, but has spent the last decade using this position to solely attack the Conservatives.He used to write daily articles attacking Johnson in a supposedly humorous manner yet never any comment on say Corbyn and other extreme left-wingers in the Labour Party.Luckily for him, the public has turned against Starmer and so he now has him as an easy target for his 'biting wit'.For true humorous and perceptive commentary on what all Parties say and do in the Commons I suggest you read Quentin Letts in the Mail.Or for no holds barred analysis of the UK's political and social policies and mores read Brenden O'Neill in Spiked Online.
