I think I've always had good coffee in Italy provided I avoid international chains encroaching from further afield. Even railway station coffee seems reasonable.

We’ve only been to Venice once. We went in January and it was really cold. Beautiful but freezing. Whenever Venice is mentioned, I think of the film “Don’t Look Now”. It really scared me at the time.
