Looks like a shop in the high street near Tesco has shut, I think sold nuts and seeds. Never went in there.

Yes, The Source. It was very good- a real loss.

Wonder what will replace it. Wilko still shut but appears they are reopening again in other areas.

The Source. Lots will really miss it - was a fabulous shop. Think there's still one in Richmond, but will miss it.

The closing of any Refill Shop is a great loss as you can buy just a little of something as well as a large amount and can take your own container to refill and so reduce the amount of packaging waste made. It's loss was mentioned some time ago on this website. Some foods such as nuts are expensive and don't last too well even when in a screw top jar and go (ie taste) stale if forgotten and not used. They are a good addition to the diet but I'm told they are best kept in the freezer to extend their life. That's something I've yet to achieve!

https://www.recyclenow.com/how-to-recycle/refill-shopsI thought it was still listed here when I last looked.
The concept was really good but I found the produce to be quite expensive. I appreciate that we need to reduce packaging waste but it should have meant paying such a big premium. A lot of the items can be purchase elsewhere in recyclable packaging. Hopefully somebody will work out how to make this kind of store work financially.

Sadly I think you still have to take the soft plastics recycling claims in this country with a pinch of salt. I don't believe we have the infrastructure here and exporting elsewhere where regulations are lax is a worry. I'll still do it as I know some does get another life before being burnt hopefully for energy. That's why shops that refill are so wonderful!
