Hypocrites!

Isn't it fascinating that those people (and there've been quite a few on here) who have been fulminating about what are, in the scale of things, pretty minor holdups caused by Just Stop Oil, XR etc, wanting to call down the full force of the law on such demonstrations, have been strangely quiet over the sheer brute vandalism of the self-styled Blade Runners in destroying/damaging ULEZ cameras, signs and vans. I wonder why that is?

Brexit really is a disaster!

Wow, Brexit really is a disaster if even the Daily Telegraph, one of the main cheerleaders for Brexit admits it's been a disaster.  Ben Marlow, the paper's Chief City Commentator, delivers this verdict today (the piece is behind the paywall so I've copied this key passage from it):
"The impact of Brexit is difficult to separate from other factors. However, at its worst it is suspected of stifling trade and investment, contributing to inflation, weakening the pound and causing serious labour shortages. At its best, it has delivered very little if any discernible economic growth four years after Britain’s departure. We can debate till the cows come home whether it is the decision itself or the failure to capitalise on it that is the problem, but even the most ardent Brexiteers now acknowledge that it hasn’t worked."No wonder the Brexiteers here have gone very, very silent!

Cleaner Wanted ~ East Putney

Does anybody local have a lovely cleaner who would be available to do a few extra hours every week? I have been quite ill for most of this year and have to accept that I will no longer be able to do my housework. I live in a small 2 bedroom terraced house in East Putney (near Wandsworth Park) and I will need someone trustworthy and reliable for a few hours every other week to do the usual household tasks dusting, vacuuming etc etc.  No ironing required.  Day and time can be very flexible. Cat friendly person preferred.😸I have phoned a couple of agencies but they aren't really interested in supplying someone for a few hours, and to be honest I would much prefer somebody who is personally recommended anyway.  Many thanks.

Took us nearly 2 hrs to get to Sainsbury's in Manor Lane today, road works. Also going round by Barnes Pond looked like they were all having fun loads of tents and music going on. Didn't know otherwise would have gone, did anybody on here go.
